Improving working life and conditions for people

Creating safe spaces for difficult conversations

Supporting sustainable change and ongoing learning

Tavistock Institut gGmbH is a not-for profit organisation, founded and owned by the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations (TIHR). We are dedicated to the study of human relations for the purpose of improving working life and conditions for people within organisations, communities and societies.

We undertake research and evaluation projects, aiming to understand and assess the quality and impact of various policies, programmes and projects, always retaining a focus on system-wide issues and dynamics. We offer professional development programmes using experiential learning methods to promote leadership in uncertain and volatile times.

Much of our work is trans-disciplinary and through research, evaluation, organisational consultancy and professional development, we promote compassionate leadership, sustainable change and ongoing learning.

We have expertise in:

  • Contextualised knowledge generation through robust research and evaluation across the EU (EU-27) and in the UK
  • Evidence and policy reviews
  • Delivering public policy in practice
  • Action research projects and exploratory research
  • Leading and managing organisational change
  • Delivering learning and professional development
  • Helping you to work more collaboratively and creatively in teams, alliances and partnerships across organisations and sectors
